ETAPA DEL SUEÑO:
0 – 3 MESES

METAS DE SUEÑO:
14-17HORAS DE SUEÑO TOTAL, QUE SUELEN OCURRIR EN PERÍODOS DE ENTRE 30 MINUTOS A 4 HORAS. 

Durante esta etapa de crecimiento del bebé no existen los malos hábitos del sueño. Sencillamente, porque aún no existen los patrones de sueño a esta edad. Una semana necesitaremos despertar al bebé para alimentarlo y en la siguiente  nos preguntaremos por qué despierta muchas veces durante la noche. 

El recién nacido experimenta estadios tanto de sueño activo, como de sueño profundo. Por ello, es esperable oír del bebé pequeños llantos, quejidos u otros sonidos mientras duerme ya que ellos son comunes durante la etapa activa del sueño. Eventualmente, entre las semanas 6 y 8, el bebé comenzará a producir su propia melatonina y será capaz de dormir por períodos más prolongados durante la noche.
